12/06 New idea for me and Ruby. I think we might become members of VIPaws. I'm not making this up. It's a real group that does dog therapy work around Bloomington. I have to take some kind of class and then Ruby has to pass a test. She has to do hard things like let other people pet her and not whine when I leave the room. The only time she ever whines is when the cats leave the room, so I figure we might have a chance at passing the test. Anyway, I was thinking she might be a good dog to take to nursing homes since she's real calm and doesn't bark or act very dog-like most of the time. I like old people too- they crack me up. I don't think I can take the next class in January because it's during a time when I have do this annoying thing called work. But maybe a month or two after that. I will keep you posted. Let me know if you have any thoughts about this.

10/11 So this last weekend Ruby and I stopped in the metropolis of Cloverdale, IN to visit my friends at their non-profit spay and neuter clinic (SPOT). Nancy, the vet, and Shannon, her assistant, started this thing up all on their own! They have some good volunteers, like the crazy cat lady I have mentioned before on this website. At any rate, they do great, important work there. Their website is under construction, so check it out periodically: www.seespot.org. Who knows, some day there may be a picture of Ruby on there. Also, if you have extra money lying around feel free to send it to them. I can personally attest to the good works they do there, and they are always in need of money, item donations, volunteers, incredibly wealthy benefactors- whatever you can do! Peeps, I'm all about making this world a better place for the animals, so you should be too. I also forgot to mention that Nancy, an actual board certified veterinarian, complimented the Rue Dog on her exemplary behavior and said she would be welcome there any time! Knowing how many dogs this fine lady has seen should tell all of you how perfect and awesome Ruby truly is!

10/02 Very important news- I called the Doggy Daycare to tell them Ruby will be on vacation next week. Nick, one of the very nice daycare providers, told me he heard Ruby bark for the first time today. He said she barked repeatedly at something behind the fence that no one else could see or hear (proof of how superior she really is). I personally have only heard her bark for maybe 15 seconds, and that has only been about 10 times since I adopted her!

10/02 Other very important news- This Sunday Ruby and I will be walking for charity for the Monroe County Humane Association's annual Walk for the Animals. We accept any and all donations- from .01 to $700 billion in bailout money. Make your checks out to MCHA! Even if you send your donations late I will get them to the MCHA- the wonderful place where I found Ruby!
